Judging - II

Now these are the words which Jesus taught his disciples that they should say unto the people: Judge not unrighteously, that you be not judged, but judge righteous judgment; for with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged, and with what measure you mete, it shall be measured to you again. (Matthew 7:1-2)

My understanding is that if men intend no offense God takes no offense. But when men were taught and should have obeyed then he reproves and corrects and then forgives and forgets. Can we be at peace with each other if we take offense where none is intended? No. Therefore we should not judge others except by the standard we wish used to judge ourselves.

Do you want God to forgive you for your disobedience of his commandments? Then you need to forgive others for their failures as well.

Do you want God to mercifully take into consideration your ignorance or motives when considering your failure to obey his commandments? Then you need to have mercy on the ignorance and take into consideration their motive too.

What about time to repent? Do you wish to have time given you to repent when you have sinned rather than being condemned instantly? Then you need to give that time to your fellow man too for how we judge others God will likewise judge us in return.
