Ask of God - III

And then said his disciples unto him, They will say unto us, We ourselves are righteous and need not that any man should teach us. God, we know, heard Moses and some of the prophets, but us he will not hear. And they will say, We have the law for our salvation and that is sufficient for us. (Matthew 7:9)

The most common response to the instruction to ask, knock and seek is that the content of scriptures we already has is enough and therefore we have no need for any other revelation to guide us. That we are righteous and don't need a teacher sent by Christ in our day.

If this is you, are you sure? Christ promises to visit those who obey his commandments. Has he visited you?

Most Christians have heard Christ's teachings. Yet how many take them seriously enough to prayerfully take them to the Lord for understanding on how to apply them. Have you? If not, why not?

Was the word of God given to Abraham enough for Isaac? If so then why did God speak to and covenant with Isaac directly? Was the word of God given to Isaac enough for Jacob? If so then why did God speak to and covenant with Jacob directly?

Are the promises given to others sufficient to save you? Or do you instead also need to obtain the same promises from God through your diligence in keeping His commandments.

The apostles were sent by Christ with a message containing new revelation. Would you have recognized Christ or his apostles as true servants of God had you lived in their day? Would you have been open to receiving more of God's words?

How would you recognize a true messenger if God were to send one in your day?

I say I have more of Jesus Christ's word. That I have been sent by Him to share it with you.

Will you be open to such that you will read this message in full in effort to determine if I speak the truth?

Please, read on.
